Real Madrid have revealed why the club decided to sign Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois joined the reigning Champions League holders on Thursday afternoon on a six-year deal.
The Belgium international had earlier told the club’s official website that he had ‘worked very hard’ for the Los Blancos to sign him
Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez said the club signed Courtois because we was the best goalkeeper at the 2018 World Cup.
“We have an extraordinary team with great talents. We are loyal to our history of Santiago Bernabeu, looking for the best players in the world and the club school is our identity,” Perez told the club’s website.
“We welcome the best goalie of the last World Cup, Thibaut Courtois.”
