Here’s Why President Buhari Hasn’t Been Wearing A Face Mask In The Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari is usually seen without wearing a face mask in most pictures of him taken at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, and it seems not to change anytime soon.

Just in case you’ve been wondering, you might need to wait around for long because he won’t be wearing one anytime soon.

Aside the obvious fact that the Nigerian president won’t be leaving the Aso Villa anytime soon, he will be receiving guests who will keep wearing masks while he doesn’t.

Lauretta Onochie, social media aide of President Buhari, on Saturday said the President has not broken any rule by not wearing the face mask despite guidelines stipulated by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Onochie stressed that expert medical protocol states that there is no need for face mask when in a safe environment, hence Buhari’s reason for not wearing it inside the Aso Villa that has been deemed safe.

Buhari had tested negative for coronavirus in his last test after his late chief of staff, Abba Kyari, tested positive and eventually died from it.

She wrote: “PRES @MBuhari IS NOT BREAKING RULES! Expert Medical Protocol is that if you are in your safe environment, you don’t need to wear a mask.

“Those visiting you MUST wear masks to ensure they leave no droplets in your environment.

“Wearing masks is mostly to protect people around us.”
