The Commissioner of Police in Osun state has disclosed that the 3rd wife of a traditional ruler, Oba Morufudeen Olawale (the Alabudo of Abudo in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun) and two persons suspected to have set the house of her rival, the 4th wife ablaze and in the process killing her three-year-old step daughter in the process.
Mr. Olafimihan Adeoye, alleged that the suspect and her accomplices left their base in Ede for Abudo at about 1. am on June 6th, where the 4th wife and her late daughter reside and set her house ablaze while they were both inside.
The Monarch reported that the inferno led to the death of the 3 year old child and left the other wife brutally injured and lying critically ill in a private hospital.
Adeoye revealed that;
”The suspects on June 5, 2018, left Ede for Abudo, a village in the Egbedore Local Government Area, and set ablaze the house of one Olawale Kadijat, aged 20, in Abudo. Consequently, one Ikimoh Akeem, a three-year-old girl, lost her life, while Khadijat, the fourth wife of the monarch,was injured by the fire and admitted to a hospital for treatment. Investigation revealed that the female suspect did not support the marriage of her husband to the fourth wife and because of this, she conspired with the other suspects to carry out the crime” he said
The police boss said the three suspects would soon be charged to court after investigation has been concluded.
