FAAC Shares N2.2trn August Revenue to FG, States, LGs

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N2,225.118 trillion August 2025 Federation Account Revenue to the Federal Government, States and the Local Government Councils.
The revenue was shared at the August FAAC meeting held in Abuja.
A communique issued by the FAAC on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, said the N2,225.118 trillion total distributable revenue comprised distributable statutory revenue of N1,478.593 billion, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N672.903 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N32.338 billion, and the Exchange Difference N41.284 billion.

The committee disclosed that total gross revenue of N3,635.802 billion was available in August, saying the total deduction for cost of collection was N124.839 billion while total transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings was N1,285.845 billion
According to the FAAC, gross revenue of N722.619 billion was available from the VAT in August as against N687.940 billion distributed in the proceeding month, resulting increase of N34.679 billion .
The FAAC stated that from the N1,478.593 billion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received N684.462 billion and the State Governments received total sum of N347.168 billion
The Local government Council received N267.652 billion, while the sum of N179.311 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting State as derivation revenue.

From the N672.903 billion distributable VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N100.935 billion, the State Governments received N336.452 billion, and the Local Government Councils received N235.516 billion.
N4.851 billion was received by the Federal Government from the N32.338 billion from the EMTL. The State Governments received N16.169 billion, while the Local Government Councils received N11.318 billion.
The FAAC said from the N41.284 billion from Exchange Difference, the Federal Government received N19.799 billion and the State Governments received N10.042 billion.
The Local Government Councils received N7.742 billion, while N3.701 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting States as derivation revenue.
It added that in August, the Gross Statutory Revenue of N2,838.214 billion received was lower than the sum of N3,070.127 billion received in July by N231.913 billion.
The committee noted that Oil & Gas Royalty, VAT and CET Levies increased significantly while Petroleum profit Tax (PPT), Import Duty, EMT, Companies Income Tax (CIT), and Excise Duty recorded decreases.
