President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting and promoting the rights and welfare of Nigerian children as the nation celebrates the 2025 National Children’s Day.
In a national address, Tinubu described children as the “pride and future of our great nation” and emphasized the need to create a safe, dignified, and loving environment for them to grow.
The President lauded this year’s theme, “Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” and condemned the prevalence of bullying and violence against children, citing statistics that over 65% of Nigerian school-age children have experienced some form of aggression.
He stressed that a fearful environment hinders learning and healthy growth, declaring, “A child who learns in fear cannot learn well. A child who grows in fear cannot grow right.”
Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu outlined initiatives aimed at supporting Nigerian children and building a brighter future for the nation.
The President’s commitment to the welfare of children underscores his administration’s focus on creating a more secure and prosperous society for all Nigerians.
