The Kano State Police Command has apprehended 18-year-old Saudat Jibril for allegedly murdering her 30-year-old husband, Salisu Idris, just nine days after their wedding.
The incident occurred in Farawa Quarters on May 6, 2025.
According to police reports, Jibril used a sharp knife to stab Idris in the throat, and he was pronounced dead at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The police arrested Jibril and are holding her at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department.
A full investigation is underway, and Jibril will face charges of culpable homicide.
