The Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has suspended Dr. George Egabor, the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Agenebode in Etsako East Local Government Area of the state, over the incessant kidnapping and killings in his community
The monarch’s suspension was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
The state government stressed that the suspension is indefinite.
The government stated that the secretary of the traditional ruler, Peter Omiogbemhi, has since been arrested by the relevant authorities, following a recent incident that led to the death of a palace chief, John Ikhamate.
