
MTN Nigeria has announced the commencement of applications for the fourth edition of its Media Innovation Programme (MIP), a six-month fellowship aimed at enhancing the skills of media professionals in the evolving media and technology landscape.
In partnership with the School of Media and Communication at Pan-Atlantic University, the programme will begin on May 19, 2025, and includes a study visit to the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
According to MTN Nigeria’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Tobe Okigbo, the initiative, launched in 2022, aims to strengthen media professionals’ understanding of the technology sector, enabling them to become media innovators.
The Dean of the School of Media and Communication at PAU, Dr. Ikechukwu Obiaya, emphasized the importance of developing a new generation of media professionals who can navigate the fast-changing media landscape with creativity and ethics.
The programme is open to journalists, broadcasters, bloggers, and social media content creators. Successful applicants will receive in-depth training on Nigeria’s technology sector, media-tech relationships, and content creation opportunities. Additionally, Fellows will gain access to mentorship, professional resources, and career-enhancing skills.
