JAMB Reschedules 2025 Mock UTME To April 10, Main Exam Date Unchanged

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new date for the 2025 Mock UTME, shifting it from April 5 to April 10, 2025.

In a statement issued by its Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB explained that the adjustment is to finalize preparations and incorporate new innovations aimed at enhancing the examination experience.

“This adjustment aims to ensure that all necessary preparations are completed, incorporating a variety of innovations and enhancements designed to make this examination one of the best in history,” the statement read.

Despite the change in the mock exam date, JAMB confirmed that the main 2025 UTME will still commence on April 25, 2025. The board also advised candidates who registered for the mock exam to stay alert for updates regarding the printing of their Mock Notification Slip, which will provide details on their exam centers.

The mock UTME serves as an optional preparatory test, allowing candidates to familiarize themselves with the examination process and assess system efficiency before the main exam.

JAMB also reiterated that the UTME is conducted via a Local Area Network (LAN), not the internet, to ensure a stable and secure process. According to the board’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, this eliminates concerns about connectivity disruptions during the exam.

As of the close of registration, 2,030,627 candidates had successfully registered for the 2025 UTME, while 200,115 opted for the mock exam. Additionally, 630 candidates registered for a trial mock test.
