The member representing Orumba North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinwe Clara Nnabuife, has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State.
Nnabuife, who won her seat under YPP by defeating Okwudili Ezenwankwo, announced her defection at a ceremony in Awka on Sunday.
Addressing APGA supporters, she declared, “I am back home,” emphasizing that her political career started with APGA and that her return would bring a significant boost to the party’s influence.
She praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s leadership and called on party members to unite ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
Anambra State APGA Chairman, Chief Ifeatu Obiokoye, officially welcomed Nnabuife, presented her with a temporary membership card, and reaffirmed the party’s stance against anti-party activities.
APGA leaders in Orumba North and South, Chief Cyril Nwobu and Chief Chike Nwafor, hailed her defection as a milestone, urging others to follow suit.
The event was attended by top dignitaries, including Orumba South Chairman Shedrack Azubuike, Deputy Chairman Ngozi Obidike, and Anambra State House of Assembly member Engineer Emmanuel Nwafor.
