Sanwo-Olu Swears In Eight New Permanent Secretaries To Strengthen Lagos Public Service

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially sworn in eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries across various ministries and agencies, reinforcing the state’s public service.

The swearing-in ceremony, held on Thursday at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Ikeja, follows the governor’s approval of the appointments on March 11.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the new officials would play a critical role in driving policy innovation and improving governance for Lagos residents.

Newly Appointed Permanent Secretaries and Their Assignments

  1. Dr. (Mrs.) Abiola Adeolu Idowu – Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA)
  2. Mrs. Aderinsola Olubanke Olanrewaju – Citizens Mediation Bureau
  3. Mr. Adetokunbo Olanrewaju Bajulaiye – Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture
  4. Mr. Tajudeen Alao Mahmud – Ministry of Finance
  5. Mr. Wasiu Bolanle Agbabiaka – Civil Service Commission
  6. Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki – Urban Development
  7. Mrs. Rianat Ajibike Onigbanjo – Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation
  8. Mr. Adebayo Wasiu Olayinka – Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment

Sanwo-Olu charged the appointees to embrace excellence, professionalism, and teamwork while ensuring sustainable development in Lagos. He reminded them that their new roles come with heightened responsibility, urging them to lead by example and engage constructively with public feedback.

The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, reaffirmed that the appointments were strategically made to enhance the efficiency of the civil service. In response, one of the new Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Aderinsola Olanrewaju, expressed gratitude and pledged commitment to the administration’s THEMES Plus agenda.
