Sanwo-Olu Commissions Ultra-Modern Classrooms, Sports Facilities ln Lagos Schools

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated state-of-the-art classroom blocks, a mini football pitch, and a multi-purpose sports court at Keme Balogun Junior/Senior College in Ibeshe, Ikorodu.

He also commissioned modern educational facilities at Ajegunle Junior High School, Owode-Onirin in Kosofe, and Odogunyan Junior Grammar School in Ikorodu.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity highlighted that these projects align with the administration’s commitment to enhancing education in Lagos State.

The newly inaugurated schools are part of a broader initiative, which includes 16 ultra-modern blocks of classrooms in secondary schools across Lagos, facilitated by the Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS).

Other benefiting schools include Awori Junior College in Ojo, Euba Junior High School in Mushin, and St. Luke Junior Secondary School in Bariga, among others.

Speaking at the commissioning, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his government’s dedication to providing first-class infrastructure and highly trained educators.

“These newly constructed and renovated facilities will serve as a catalyst for change, providing our children with the tools they need to compete in an increasingly globalized world. Education is the engine that drives economic growth, reduces inequality, and empowers individuals to break the cycle of poverty,” he stated.

The Governor emphasized that these projects have not only improved learning conditions but also created jobs during the construction phase, boosting the local economy. He assured residents that more primary and secondary schools would be built and ongoing road projects in Ikorodu would be completed.

Sanwo-Olu also challenged students to excel in their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), promising further investments in education.

“To my students, I encourage you to do very well in your WAEC exams. I look forward to returning and celebrating your success,” he said.

He commended the SCRPS leadership for ensuring that all Lagos schools meet the state’s educational goals and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing and equipping all school projects.
