FG Approves NYSC Mobilisation For Full-Time HND Graduates, Resolves Long-Standing Issue

The Federal Government has officially approved the mobilisation of Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), ending a long-standing exclusion of polytechnic graduates from the scheme.

Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, announced the breakthrough on Thursday, following discussions with the NYSC Director-General.

Moreso, Alausa clarified that only full-time HND graduates are eligible for mobilisation, while those who obtained their HND through part-time programs remain ineligible.

To ensure smooth implementation, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been directed to collate and upload eligible graduate data onto a newly created HND admission portal.

“This development reinforces the Federal Ministry of Education’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity in the education system,” the minister stated.

Furthermore, the newly launched portal will serve as the official database for full-time HND graduates, ensuring proper documentation and resolving past challenges linked to admission records.

Alausa encouraged all eligible graduates to take full advantage of this opportunity and proceed with their NYSC mobilisation without delay, reaffirming the government’s dedication to equal opportunities and national development.
