Former President Donald Trump has introduced a mobile application designed to facilitate the voluntary departure of undocumented immigrants from the United States.
In a 90-second video posted on social media platform X, Trump urged those residing in the country illegally to “self-deport” using the app, named Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Home. He warned that those who refuse may face forced deportation, which could result in permanent bans on re-entry.
“People in our country illegally can self-deport the easy way, or they can get deported the hard way and that’s not pleasant,” Trump stated.
According to Trump, the app provides a streamlined and cost-effective solution for both undocumented immigrants and taxpayers by reducing the resources spent on enforcement.
He also suggested that voluntary departure through the app could improve individuals’ chances of legally returning to the U.S. in the future.
“Today, do it right, and come back into our country. Do it wrong, and you’ll never be back again,” he said.
Meanwhile, his administration has intensified deportation efforts, invoking the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to expel Venezuelan nationals suspected of gang affiliations.
Over the weekend, a U.S. District Judge temporarily halted flights deporting individuals to a Salvadoran prison, but the administration proceeded with two flights, challenging the ruling.
