
Nigerians have been urged to patronize locally made products to drive job creation, industrial growth, and technological advancement.
Renowned industrialist Dr. Austin Lazarus made the call in Benin, Edo State, during a focus group meeting organized by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), the Edo State Ministry of Science and Technology, and industry leaders, to discuss challenges and opportunities in Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.
Lazarus emphasized the importance of collaboration between manufacturers and academia, advocating for research-driven innovations to improve product quality.
He highlighted the role of reverse engineering and investment in research and development as critical to Nigeria’s industrial success.
Stakeholders at the event called for stronger government support and funding to enhance the quality and competitiveness of Nigerian-made products, ensuring sustainable economic growth.
