Afrobeats star Rema has shared his concerns about the struggles facing Nigeria, revealing that many citizens have lost hope in the country. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the singer expressed his determination to stay optimistic and contribute to Nigeria’s progress despite the frustrations many people feel.
“A lot of people are giving up in Nigeria. A lot of people are angry at Nigeria. But I keep hope,” Rema said. “There’s not a lot of people who would carry Afrobeats like this so much, carry culture… I just want to do what I need to do.”
The music star also reflected on his experience at the 2025 Grammys, where he lost the Best Global Music Album award. Despite the setback, he remained positive, saying, “I had my fingers crossed that I’d walk up the stage too, and when it didn’t happen… it happens. It’s not the first award that I got nominated for and didn’t get.”
Meanwhile, Rema has announced his upcoming Heis album tour for 2025, set to take his music to fans around the world.
