The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of Nigeria’s national carriers through the implementation of the Fly Nigeria Bill 2024.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, made this known at the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing Series.
The Fly Nigeria Bill aims to prioritize Nigerian flag carriers for all government-funded travel, ensuring that Nigerian airlines are used first.
This move is expected to boost the Nigerian aviation industry, promote national pride, and improve service delivery.
Keyamo emphasized that the bill would protect Nigeria’s aviation market from external dominance, allowing local airlines to thrive.
He also acknowledged the receipt of the final report of the Ministerial Task Force on Illegal Private Charter Operations and Related Matters, which aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of “doing the right thing” across all sectors.
