
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured youths in the state of more empowerment in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, urging them to take farming seriously.
The governor’s assurance came during the Isoko Youth Conference, which aimed to promote political unity, agricultural empowerment, and socio-economic development.
The conference, held on March 5, 2025, at Delta State University, brought together youths from across Isoko Nation to equip them with knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to drive positive change and sustainable development in their communities.
Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of agriculture in achieving economic independence and reducing poverty.
He pledged to support youths in their agricultural endeavors and encouraged them to take advantage of the state government’s programs and initiatives, including the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP) and the Job and Wealth Creation Bureau .
The conference featured keynote speakers, panel discussions, and goodwill messages from stakeholders, including High Chief Eta Enahoro, MD/CEO of Skyward Resources, who stressed the need for Isoko youths to shift their focus from relying on political appointments to exploring agricultural opportunities.
The event was a resounding success, empowering Isoko youths with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to drive positive change and sustainable development in their communities.
