TASUED Takes Historic Leap: FG Adoption Sets Stage For Rapid Development

The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) has been adopted by the Federal Government as a federal institution, marking a significant milestone in the university’s history.

This development was welcomed with enthusiasm by the National President of the Alumni Association, Mr. Bolaji Oladeji, who described it as “very cheering.

The adoption, approved by President Bola Tinubu, is expected to usher in a new era of rapid development for the university.

Oladeji expressed the alumni’s gratitude to President Tinubu, highlighting their expectations for improved funding, infrastructure development, staff welfare, research funding, and global recognition.

Akinbodunse Praise, Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, also commended the Federal Government’s decision, citing its potential to boost the education sector nationwide.

He acknowledged Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts in sustaining the institution and expressed appreciation for the Awujale’s role in preventing the university’s closure in 2012.

As a federal institution, TASUED will become the first federally owned tertiary institution in the Ogun East senatorial district.

The university’s transition is expected to require minimal federal investment, thanks to its well-developed infrastructure and academic programs.

This development aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening teacher education and enhancing instructional quality across all educational levels.

With TASUED’s new status, the Federal Government now oversees three universities of education in Nigeria.
