Couple Arrested For Kidnapping Online Vendor, Demanding Ransom

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a couple, Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor, for allegedly kidnapping an online vendor in the Iyana Ishashi area.

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, the victim was abducted while attempting to deliver a product, stripped naked, assaulted, and had her nude pictures taken.

The couple demanded a ransom of N2 million, threatening to leak the images if the victim failed to comply.

However, the victim managed to pay N300,000 on the spot before regaining her freedom.

The police tracked and arrested the couple, who are currently in custody as investigations continue. This incident highlights the growing concerns about kidnapping and online safety in Nigeria.
