The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Nigeria/Kenya Parliamentary Group, Abdullah El-Rasheed, is pushing for stronger collaboration between Nigeria and Kenya to tap into the vast agricultural potential of the African continent.
He emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral ties between the two nations, highlighting their strong partnership since establishing diplomatic relations on May 28, 1964.
El-Rasheed noted that cooperation between Nigeria and Kenya has expanded significantly in various sectors, including trade, investment, and mutual support globally.
He cited the critical agreements signed in January 2015, covering tourism, agriculture, oil and gas, and trade, as a solid foundation for greater collaboration.
The Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, Amb. Isaac Parashina, expressed readiness to foster collaboration with Nigeria in textile, coffee, and agriculture, welcoming the development.
El-Rasheed stressed the need to address trade barriers, facilitate greater understanding of each other’s economic landscapes, and maximize the potential of their vast resources for mutual benefit.
