This project aims to reduce travel time between Lagos and Abuja from 12 hours to just 2-3 hours. The construction phase is expected to last around 48-52 months.
Engineer Yinka Idris, Director of Operations at Geofocus Consortium, disclosed on Wednesday that an independent power plant will also be built to support the train’s operations.
According to Idris, travelers between Lagos and Abuja face long hours in traffic, safety concerns, and reduced productivity.
“An independent power plant will also be constructed to support the train and surrounding infrastructure,” Idris added.

Moreso, once completed, the high-speed bullet train will significantly transform Nigeria’s transportation sector, offering seamless travel, improved quality of life, and enhanced economic opportunities.
