Gen. Musa To Canada: Respect Nigeria and Its Citizens Globally

Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has fired back at the Canadian High Commission for denying him and other top military officials visas to attend the Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Musa emphasized that Nigeria will not tolerate disrespect from any country against its citizens.

The denial of visas was met with condemnation from the Federal Government, with the National Security Adviser and the Interior Minister describing it as unacceptable.

Musa also dismissed claims that Nigeria’s armed forces were not invited to participate in the games.

Musa highlighted that Nigeria followed all due processes and that government officials, including ministers and the NSA, were aware of the preparations.

He questioned the reasons behind the visa denial, noting that key team members, including the team captain, medical doctor, and physiotherapist, were not granted visas.

The Chief of Defence Staff assured that Nigeria will continue to support its military officers, including those with injuries, and will not abandon them.

He further emphasized the importance of respecting Nigeria and its citizens globally.
