The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has revised its forecast for U.S. oil and condensate production in 2025, reducing it by 50,000 barrels per day.
Despite this downgrade, OPEC still expects U.S. oil production to increase by 240,000 barrels per day in 2025, reaching 13.47 million barrels per day.
To put this into perspective, U.S. oil production averaged 13.23 million barrels per day in 2024, which was 290,000 barrels per day more than the previous year.
Looking ahead to 2026, OPEC forecasts that U.S. oil production will grow by 170,000 barrels per day, reaching an average of 13.64 million barrels per day.
Notably, this revised forecast suggests that OPEC is cautiously optimistic about the growth of U.S. oil production, despite the slight downgrade for 2025.
