Trump’s Gaza Plan Sparks Outrage, Arab Leaders Resist

US President Donald Trump is sticking to his plan to put Gaza under “US authority” despite pushback from Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

Trump wants to rebuild Gaza, but only after relocating Palestinians, which has sparked widespread criticism.

King Abdullah reiterated Jordan’s opposition to displacing Palestinians, emphasizing that rebuilding Gaza without displacement should be the priority.

During their meeting, Abdullah offered to take in 2,000 Palestinian children with cancer, which Trump called a “beautiful gesture.”

However, Trump didn’t budge on his plan, saying the US would “take” Gaza and make it a “tremendous asset” for the Middle East.

Egypt’s foreign ministry has announced plans to present a comprehensive vision for Gaza’s reconstruction, ensuring Palestinians remain on their land.

Trump’s proposal has been met with resistance from Arab leaders, who reject any attempts to displace Palestinians.

The issue is particularly sensitive for Jordan, with half its population being of Palestinian origin.

Moreso, Jordan relies heavily on US economic and military aid, which could be used as leverage by Trump.

King Abdullah has stressed his commitment to Jordan’s stability and the well-being of its citizens.
