Abductors Of Former NYSC Director-General Demand N250 Million Ransom

The gunmen who kidnapped the Retired General Maharazu Tsiga, former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), at his residence in Tsiga village, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, have demanded a ransom of N250m

The incident which occurred on Wednesday, with gunmen armed with sophisticated weapons invading Tsiga’s residence, wounding two residents, and accidentally killing one of their own.

The Katsina Police Command has confirmed the abduction and assured the public that security agencies are actively working to rescue Tsiga.

Police spokesperson Abubakar Sadiq stated that operatives responded swiftly but arrived after the attackers had fled with their hostages.

The command has intensified its efforts, collaborating with stakeholders and security agencies, and recently arrested 45 suspects for various crimes across the state.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant as efforts to apprehend the culprits and secure Tsiga’s safe release continue.
