Alex Iwobi’s impressive performance in the English Premier League continues as he reached a significant milestone in Fulham’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham.
Though, Iwobi’s efforts weren’t enough to secure any points for his team despite scoring two goals in the London derby,
The match was Iwobi’s 274th Premier League appearance which is a testament to his consistency and longevity in the league, it also moves him clear of Nigerian legend Nwankwo Kanu, with whom he was previously tied for second place with 273 appearances.
Based on this latest milestone, Alex Iwobi now trails only former Newcastle United star Shola Ameobi in the list of Nigerian players with the most Premier League appearances, as he is just 15 appearances away from surpassing Shola Ameobi’s record.
With seven goals and three assists, Alex Iwobi has solidified his place as a key player for Fulham this season. So, it’s only a matter of time before he claims the top spot on the all-time Nigerian Premier League appearance list.
